Hey there!

My name is Alex, aka the ‘wayward wanderess’ and I’m so glad you found me.

I’m a 20-something adventure addict who cannot sit still. I like to take things fast-paced and stay on-the-go. When I’m not actively traveling, I’m very likely plotting my next journey. My list of places to explore grows longer by the day and I want to make sure I’m able to experience everything while I can.

I’ve always had big dreams of travel, but no means to pursue them. Growing up I wasn’t able to go on any vacations other than the beach that was a 3 hour drive away from our house in the suburbs. My parents just didn’t have the desire (or money) to go anywhere. My very first airplane ride didn’t take place until I was 18 – it was my very first trip to Disney World (exotic, I know). I ended up leaving a very long-term relationship with someone who had no desire to travel (that wasn’t the reason) and immediately applied for my first passport. Ever since then, I’ve made it my mission to travel as often as possible to make up for lost time!

That said, I’m your typical, average, everyday girl who works a very typical 9-5 job. I don’t have the means to quit and roam the world freely like some travel bloggers out there have been fortunate enough to do, so I try to squeeze the most out of every single vacation day I spend. My ultimate dream would, of course, be to travel and blog full time. The next-best thing would be to work as a digital nomad, working remotely from new destinations as frequently as I wished. But for now, I’m content being the wandering whirlwind and sharing the memories and tips I’ve collected along the way 🙂

Whether you’re a seasoned travel vet or a newbie who has never left your hometown, thank you for joining me on this wild ride.
